Finally, we are proud to announce Lilian Rain Marie Eckhardt - yeah!! She's official. After an entire day we are done all the paperwork for China.
First we went to the Civil Affairs building to received the Adoption Certification, then we went to the Notary's office to have it authenticated THEN we went to the passport office to get her a Chinese passport. We didn't get this one completed as she is registered under 2 different names, one from the police report of her finding and the other from the orphanage. Our job is done, our guide will complete the rest. It's a mighty good thing because the kids are squirrley and driving us CRAZY - yes even Lily!!!
We had our driver from Sunday (when we went to get Lily) and his van. We haven't seen them since that day. As soon as we got outside and she saw the driver and the van she started crying and wouldn't get in the car. I think the poor little sweetheart thought her "holiday" was over and we were giving her back. She wouldn't speak for about an hour -she was very somber.
She is also in love with Ken. All day she has been literally yelling at him - BABA - pick me up, BABA - I want you to carry me. You will notice I didn't really get to hold her too much - it was ALL about BABA today.
And no - I still have not found a Chinese straightener!!!!!!!

A chinese gentleman that I work with also has a little girl..he mentioned that there is this childrens Treehouse program on TV called
" Ni Hao Kai Lin ".
Ni Hao means How are you...in Mandarin
Kai Lin is the name of the girl in the program.
His daughter loves it!!!
